Dallas man indicted and began trial for violent crime of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Knife), Felony.   After jury selection, client accepted plea bargain offer of ten years deferred probation.

Aggravated Robbery

Dallas county man indicted for Aggravated Robbery. Co-defendants also indicted for murder and sentenced to life in prison. State reduced felony and client sentenced to two years deferred probation.

Aggravated Robbery

Dallas county man indicted for Aggravated Robbery for hitting complainant with brass knuckles and stealing cash and a firearm during a drug deal. Set for jury trial. State to misdemeanor assault with time-served before trial.

Result: Reduced to misdemeanor

Aggravated Robbery (home invasion)

Collin county man indicted for violent crime case of Aggravated Robbery home invasion that resulted in shooting death of accomplice. State offered 40 years in prison. State dismissed related charges of bail jumping and possession of marijuana after the jury assessed 27 years.

Result: Lower sentence than plea bargain

Denton county man charged with violent crime case of deadly conduct. Jury verdict of Not Guilty.

Homicide

Local small business owner shot and killed robber.  Accompanied client, shooter, to police headquarters after deadly shooting for investigation in homicide.  Client acted in self-defense under Castle Doctrine. Police never arrested client and referred the case to grand jury for indictment.  The grand jury refused to indict the business owner for homicide because he acted in self-defense, and he was never prosecuted.

Result: Not arrested and not indicted

Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm

Client faced felony indictment for Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm at Dallas Love Field Airport. During a work-related emergency, client forgot that his firearm was in a carry-on bag.  Submitted packet to the grand jury that client should not be indicted.  As a result, Dallas grand jury returned no-bill of indictment.

Result: Not indicted
